Jessica Lauretti
This is Laurels

As many of you know, I launched my own consulting practice, LAURELS, back in the summer of 2018. Since then, things have been busy and many of you have asked what I've been up to so I thought I'd write with an update.
After leaving my role at RYOT in July, I had the opportunity to take a short sabbatical and begin working on a book project. Soon after, I was profiled by The New York Times, which after 20 years in NYC was a dream to be seen in the Sunday print edition. Then I headed to Sicily to eat pasta, go swimming and live my life for awhile.
Back in NYC in the fall, I premiered my book proposal, Everything I Thought I Knew, with a keynote at the Fast Company Innovation Festival. I became a Social Impact Mentor at WeWork Labs working with early stage startups and entrepreneurs and part of the inaugural faculty of Ascent Leadership Networks, sharing my experience with Augmented Reality with their CEO Cohort. I decided then to make my own practice official and spent the holidays getting things sorted.
With the new year, comes some exciting new partnerships to announce. I'll be partnering with Thalia Mavros and The FRONT on all marketing campaigns, content development and production services. I'll also be working with Kate Lingley and Hazelwood Archival on research and licensing needs for documentaries and advertising. And perhaps most excitingly, I've signed with Charlie Olson at Inkwell Management as my literary agent.
This spring, I'll be continuing to work with the folks I've mentioned herein, as well as bringing some new friends into the fold. I'll also be giving a guest lecture at my alma mater, SVA, hosting a panel for the NYC VC community with Venture Out and speaking at the Accenture House at SXSW on the future of virtual humanity.
The name LAURELS is in honor of my last name, Lauretti, as well as the definition meaning achievement. Under this banner, I'm lucky enough to work with people I love, on projects I care about, and so as always, please call me if you want to do something extraordinary together!
